Eco-Council

Hello, we are Hurst Green’s Eco Council Ambassadors!

Each year, Key Stage 2 pupils, who are passionate about protecting the environment, can apply for a place on our Eco Council team by writing a letter of application.

Our Eco Councillors meet regularly with Mrs Beard to organise activities around the school designed to keep the school eco-friendly.

At the heart of all their work is the Hurst Green Eco code (see link below), a set of promises that the children strive to help the school uphold.

December our focus was litter picking.

January our focus is installing recycling bins in every class.

February our focus is reminding the whole school what can be recycled in our recycling bins.

March our focus is saving electricity by turning lights off when the classroom is not in use.
