Dear Parents and Carers
Just before half-term a selection panel made up of Governors and a representative from the Local Authority spent two days interviewing three candidates for the Headteacher post which will become vacant when Mrs Bathurst leaves at Christmas. This is the third time the Headship has been advertised, and the second time candidates have been interviewed.
In addition to interviews, the three candidates were visited in their present schools, interviewed by the children on the school council and took an assembly at Hurst Green. The outcome of this process is that Mrs Victoria Kelly has been appointed Headteacher and she will start after Easter 2017. Mrs Kelly is Headteacher of a similar size school to Hurst Green currently, and is looking forward to working with you, your children and the staff.
Mrs Mauchline, Deputy Headteacher, has kindly agreed to be acting Headteacher in the Spring Term, until Mrs Kelly takes up the post, and I am sure she will enjoy your full support.
Chair of Governors.
