Catch Up Premium
Children across the country have experienced unprecedented disruption to their education as a result of the pandemic. The Government announced over £1 billion of funding to support children to catch up. This included a one-off 'Catch Up Premium' for the 20-21 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help children catch up with lost learning time. Please see the plan below for details of how we used the Catch up Premium at Hurst Green Primary School.
In 2021-22 the Government announced funding for 'School Led Tuition'. We used this funding to provide children with 15 hours of face-to-face catch-up tuition in English or maths in small groups of 3-4. Children were taught in groups of 3-4 children by school staff. We also used this funding to provide some Y6 children with 15 hours of online tuition provided by Pearson.
In 2022-2023 we have put in place a school led model of catch-up tuition.
