Testimonial - Parent of Kai (in Year 1)

My son, who is in Year 1, attends the wrap around care provision at Hurst Green Primary school every day (both the breakfast and after school club) — and we couldn’t be happier with the provision!

He really enjoys the wide range of breakfasts on offer, especially the pancakes with fruit and honey, which are his absolute favourite. Since joining the breakfast club, he has become much more settled at school. It has also made communication with staff so much easier, as I can now drop him off myself in the mornings and pass on any letters or information directly to his teachers. This small change has made a huge difference to both of us and has really helped Kai to settle more quickly and confidently.

The after-school provision is equally fantastic. Kai loves the variety of activities available in the hall and outside on the playground. Kai particularly enjoys the building and car activities, but his favourite part is the free play with his friends — including children from different year groups that he might not usually get the chance to play with.

The staff are wonderful — friendly, approachable, and genuinely caring towards my son. It’s such a comfort knowing he is happy, well looked after, and having fun before and after school.

We are so grateful for this wrap around care — it has made such a positive difference to our family routine and to Kai’s school experience.

Thank you to the head teacher for making the decision to host such a provision as it has enabled me to continue working at a job I may have otherwise had to leave, and of course to all the staff involved in making this provision as wonderful as it is! Our family are very grateful- especially Kai!
